Our opening day pictures are now online

After years of planning and building, Limelight officially opened its doors to the public on Monday 2nd October.

Hundreds of local people visited the new community health and well-being hub during the day to see a range of great new services including a library, café, event spaces and a nursery.

Limelight is now open seven days a week from 9am until late every evening, allowing residents to help ‘road test’ the building, give feedback and help shape the way the facilities and services are delivered. The new opticians’ practice eyePAD Opticians and Limelight Hair & Beauty Hub are set to open very soon following by two GP practices and a pharmacy later in October.

Visitors are also starting to hire a range of spaces at Limelight which can be used for events, such as weddings, christenings, corporate functions, conferences and exhibitions. An interactive 4D immersive space is also on offer which can create unique experiences using colourful graphics and images projected on walls and floors.

Following this ‘soft opening’ period, the development will officially open on Thursday 7th December with a community event from 2pm-8pm attended by local people, community groups, partners and VIPs. Renowned author, broadcaster and poet Lemn Sissay will be in attendance alongside Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, and CEO of the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation, Diane Modahl.
