On 7th December the Old Trafford community celebrated the official launch of Limelight. Working with local activity groups, charities, business people and Limelight’s partners the event was a huge success. Hundreds of local residents enjoyed a jam packed day of incredible activities, such as: samba lessons, fitness demonstrations, art workshops, live kitchen, ‘Our Old Trafford’ exhibition, DJ workshop, animation creation and much more!
The event showcased Limelight’s facilities, and it’s commitment to improving health and well-being within the Old Trafford community. The Primary Care Centre (PCC), upstairs in the building, was not left out of the fun with Limelight Cafe's nutritionist running smoothie bike challenges, and talking about their ‘Super Five’ campaign; as well as Together Dementia Support’s ‘Games for the Brain’ which had everyone (including those who suffer with Dementia) engaging in some light-hearted board game competition, and so much more. Both GP surgeries, Brooks Bar Medical Practice and Ayres Road Surgery, attended the event providing health checks, flu vaccinations and advice on how to register with the services when they open in the new year.
Limelight hopes to continue the momentum from the launch and will be announcing many more events for 2018; this will include another opportunity to see the ‘Our Old Trafford’ exhibition film, weekly table tennis sessions and a regular drawing social club. Keep an eye on the events page of this website, or like the Limelight Old Trafford Facebook page if you want to be kept up to date on everything going on here at Limelight.
