Limelight Old Trafford is celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2019, with an evening of fun activities.
The female-focused event offers belly dancing, yoga, martial arts workshops, live drawing, poetry and the chance to meet organisations which campaign on issues that affect women’s lives including violence against women and period poverty
David Teasdale, Limelight centre manager, said: “Limelight is more than just a building – it is an amazing, innovative, community health and wellbeing hub, which makes a difference to people’s lives. We are celebrating International Women’s Day by holding an event here and we would love it if women would like to join us.”
Limelight, from Trafford Housing Trust, originally opened in December 2017 and offers community facilities and events, an on-site health hub, library, pharmacy, opticians, hair and beauty hub, café and nursery, which are all open to the public. The building also offers extra-care apartment living with Shared Ownership through Laurus Homes for the over 55’s and a range of individual care packages and support.
The flagship development also recently won two awards at the 2018 Inside Housing Development awards – Best Older People’s Housing Development and Best Affordable Housing Development – and received a highly commended in the Best Residential Development category.
