Limelight and Manchester Histories have been working with the people of Old Trafford to produce a 4D visual and sound experience that reveals the rich and diverse histories of Old Trafford. Delving deep into old photo archives from Trafford Local Studies Centre, film footage from North West Film Archives, and chatting to local people, the installation brings to life the industrious and friendly nature of Old Trafford through the ages.

Limelight is a health and wellbeing hub in the heart of the Old Trafford community providing access to wide range of services. Manchester Histories is a growing and dynamic charity that works collaboratively with people, organisations, and partners to reveal, share and celebrate Greater Manchester’s diverse histories and heritage.

Sam McCormick, the Business and Community Development Manager for Limelight said:

“Old Trafford is an amazing community with a history of making people welcome. It has been a real delight to work with Manchester Histories on this 4D exhibition. ‘Our Old Trafford’ brings the 4D space in Limelight to life with the sights and sounds of Old Trafford past and present. Everyone is welcome is come along and to our launch and the 7th of December and share your Old Trafford stories.”

Karen Shannon CEO of Manchester Histories said “As a local resident of Old Trafford I was fascinated to see the ever changing landscape of the local area. It is wonderful to see what existed before, and the newly created spaces like Limelight. More importantly, it is very heartwarming to hear and see how the people of Old Trafford have always been welcoming, opening their hearts and doors to people from all over the world. This is something special, it brings together such a rich, inclusive and vibrant community that works together for the common good of all. I feel extremely honoured and proud to be part of the Old Trafford family”
