The Limelight Opticians

See clearly at Limelight

eyePAD Opticians are primary health care specialists, trained to examine eyes and detect defects in vision, signs of injury, ocular diseases or abnormality and problems with general health.

A detailed examination of the eye can reveal conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Optometrists make a health assessment, offer clinical advice and when necessary prescribe spectacles or contact lenses. In addition, optometrists can dispense, fit and supply spectacles or contact lenses. eyePAD Opticians will work closely with your GP’s and local hospitals to ensure all required care and treatment is carried out in a timely manner.

eyePAD opticians' Director and Owner is Rashida Shaikh who gained an BSc (hons) in Optometry from UMIST and trained at the Royal Eye Hospital in Manchester. Rashida has resided in Old Trafford all her life and has been practicing for over 20 years.  She has always been an advocate of better eye care for the local community and has campaigned for greater awareness of Diabetes and other illnesses that affect sight, especially in certain ethnic minority groups, which drove her to open her practice in Old Trafford in 2013.

Rashida’s vision for eyePAD at Limelight is to offer bespoke eye care in the heart of the local community. Rashida can offer consultations in English, Guajarati, Hindi and Urdu and aims to offer longer and in some cases more thorough consultations versus other High Street Opticians.

“The great thing about Limelight is that it is a one-stop-shop for healthcare for people in Old Trafford and Limelight will be the epicentre of community activities whether that be essential, educational or recreational.”
